MS Teams CT Text - Add CT Text To Teams Channels
Summary
This article will outline how to attach the CT Text application to a Microsoft Teams channel for CT Text use within groups. Only CT Text group/ shared inbox numbers can be attached to a Microsoft Teams channel; these steps will not apply to CT Text personal numbers.
Important: The only way to receive notifications from a Shared Inbox is to install CT Text in a Teams channel.
Assigning an inbox to a Teams channel requires two things:

The user needs to be part of the shared inbox

CT Text admin access needs to be granted to perform the steps outlined in this article. This access should not be mistaken for the Microsoft Admin access.
A customer will encounter this error if they are not granted admin access when performing the connect command within the Teams channel.
Granting Customer Temporary Admin Access

Access the customer’s user profile in the Yakchat portal.

Select Admin under the Role drop down

Hit Save. If Save is grayed out, remove or input characters in the last name field so the Save field gets enabled.

Once the customer performs the steps below, the Admin role needs to be reverted back to User.
Make sure to manage the customer's expectations when assigning this role. Specify a limited timeframe for them to complete the necessary tasks in the Teams e.g. “This role is temporarily assigned to enable the connection of CT Text shared inboxes to the necessary Teams channels. Please inform us once the task is completed. Your original role will be restored upon your notification or by the end of the business day.
Note: As of the creation of this document, no customer has been granted admin access to CT Text.
Adding CT Text in the Teams Channel
Step 1: Select the Teams channel
Navigate to the Teams channel you would like your CT Text group inbox to be attached to and type CT-Text connect and post.
Step 2: Select the inbox you would like to add to the channel and click OK. Click OK again on the second prompt.
Once successful, a prompt should appear that the inbox has been connected to the channel.
Shared Inbox Notifications
If the customer wants to receive notifications, then CT Text has to be installed in a Teams channel. To check what channels are connected to group inboxes, go to the Yakchat admin portal, click on "Integrations" on the left side, then click "Edit" on the "Microsoft Teams" card.
